Apple always claims that Macs are better than PCs. Dell and HP aren't making those same claims. I've never heard either company publicly dump on Apple. Apple dumps on them on TV all the time.
So Michael Dell publicly stating that Steve Jobs should close the doors and return the money to the investors is not dumping?

GeekBench 2 benchmarks http://www.primatelabs.ca/blog/2011/02/macbookpro-benchmarks-early-2011/ of the new MBPs with Sandy Bridge would indicate otherwise. This review said: "....the fastest MacBook Pro is 80% faster than the fastest previous-generation MacBook Pro.". My guess is a similar situation might be true for the iMac and it will be faster ( otherwise, there's little point to a rev )

Malware includes computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, spyware and other malicious and unwanted software or programs. The idea that OSX and/or Unix/Linux based operating systems is free from such threats is absurd.
No one has presented the idea that Mac OS X is free from all malware threats. Since your reading comprehension might need some help, I'll repeat my statement again:
there is no Mac malware in the wild that can't be avoided with some common sense and prudent action on the part of the user.
Viruses for Mac OS X don't exist, so antivirus isn't needed to protect against them.
Trojans for Mac OS X do exist, but can be avoided by the user being careful what they install, so antivirus isn't needed to protect against them.
Meanwhile, the answer on here to avoiding potential pitfalls in things like Flash is to (surprise), not install or use it. Hey guys, don't power on your computers and you will always be safe! :rolleyes:

What's hard in the U.S. is that most people make a modest or poor salary--yet the culture is very materialistic and there is a lot of pressure to buy so many luxury goods and services. At least in third world countries, your friends aren't pressuring you to take extravagant vacations you can't afford or go out to expensive restaurants.

I can understand the privacy concerns here. I'm not a criminal so I'm not too worried about what might happen if someone gets my phone and figures out where I've been. The first thing I thought of when I read this is maybe if my phone wasn't needlessly doing this in the background I might get better battery life.

THEN the chart shows they are comparing OPERATING SYSTEMS. It's important to remember that Apple's phenomenal market share is accomplished on ONE handset (yes it gets updated every year, but there's only ONE iPhone) compared to dozens and dozens that run Android and (maybe someday) Windows Phone 7.
I still doubt it, but regardless, no SINGLE PHONE will come anywhere near the iPhone.

Because I am going to. I'm a completely safe driver (even when doing 90 or above) until I run into some dunderhead who has to enforce the speed limit themselves. Had that woman just moved like everyone else did, I would have never had to cut her off in order to punish her. It is likely that someone screwed up and delayed in applying for a patent, as such, :eek: Creative got there first. Maybe that is why Steve sounded pissed.
That's what I think could have happened too. I don't know why people think Creative made this up and Apple felt like giving $100 million to charity or something.

I had an app rejected because the icon was a cartoon of the presidential seal where the eagle, in one claw, was holding an iphone-looking phone, which I drew myself, and which was probably 12 pixels x 6 pixels or so in size (in an overall icon that was 57px x 57px.)
But apparently including a 3/4 scale photo of an iphone is fine.

How will the home sync work? I don't want to screw up my iPod, my home library on my MacBook Pro & my iTunes library on my office G5.
I've downloaded iTunes 7, bought a game (same trouble w/my 5G; still no iPod software update yet to make the game work) & clicked to "Get Album Artwork," which seems to be running in the background. So far so good.
If you have a CD which has long pieces of classical music on it, they break it up into separate tracks even though there technically aren't any pauses in the music. On any decent CD player these tracks play back seamlessly -- without any gaps. iPod would insert a pause in between playing these.
Edit: The REAL question is have they updated iTunes to be a better video player? I hate watching TV or movies in the current version.

Some time back there was a post of someone swapping out a cpu in an Imac. Does anyone know if someone has managed to swap out the core 2 duo cpu yet? I assume they still arent soldered?
