Windows user here for at least a decade. This is obviously propaganda to promote some sort of upcoming suite of software for OSX to prevent "viruses" lol. Yawn. I am right now on my Windows box as I don't have a Mac at the moment but I have owned several. The only way your Mac can be infected with anything is through stupidity.

It could be no other thing.
It could be many other things--Aperture, iSight, Cinema Displays, updated laptops, etc.
What it won't be is an iPhone.

If you try to imagine the future of society and governance, you either are going to regress to unregulated capitalism and barrons or move forward to regulated capitalism or some form of socialism. The idea is to raise up the majority of people, not every person for themselves, not screw over your fellow human being for your personal advantage.
I'd say since the high point of post WWII, we as a society in the U.S. have done our best to eradicate The New Deal and move back to reaching for magnificant wealth while screwing each other over.
So what would you call moving forward?

Sorry, but I'm not. I try and avoid idiots on the highway. But why do I get the feeling that you are going to tell me that driving 90+ is perfectly safe cause you are such a wonderful driver.
Because I am going to. I'm a completely safe driver (even when doing 90 or above) until I run into some dunderhead who has to enforce the speed limit themselves. Had that woman just moved like everyone else did, I would have never had to cut her off in order to punish her. And yes I did have to punish her, because she needed to be taught her dang place on the road.
EDIT: @adk - yes I am 16, however in this situation my mother was in the car and actually encouraged me to cut the idiot off. So it's not just an age based thing.

this goes to show how behind apple is in updating.
clearly they arent ready to adapt to an intel platform. the cant even make simple processor adjustments on time!
all the major companies have made this transition.
Yes, Apple is doomed because the are few days behind in announcing their new laptops . Obviously hordes of people are rushing to buy Toshibas and Dells (which might not ship for several weeks, for all we know) as we speak, and unless Apple IMMEDIATELY updates their products, they are doomed. DOOMED I tells ya!

I thought they had 5.1 sound already in the movie downloads?
They are Dolby Surround, not Dolby Digital. Dolby Surround is just matrixed stereo audio.

That's amazing, leave it to Apple to do something this cool when they didn't have to. Now if they would just have two thunderbolt ports on their laptops!! :)

:confused:I understand that Eyefinity offers a single display per connector. The best example being the 5/6 Mini DisplayPort video cards on the market.
What I have not seen are daisy chaining multiple displays from a single DisplayPort connector (via proper cabling) or from a passthrough based on a display to an additional monitor.

What about India? I want me an iPhone!!
And why the exclusive deal? Wouldn't that mean that Apple would sell LESS iPhone's? I can't see how an exclusive deal with Cingular/O2 benefits anyone other than Cingular/O2...

since Apple lost their claim as the producer of the biggest LCD monitor in the market (30 inch behemoth), maybe Apple will use this event to announce 42 inch Apple Cinema Display.
and what happened to that Apple patent for thousands of small camera embedded on the LCD?
MBP update is very likely, but you won't see Macbook update. processor is limited in quantities and obviously computers with bigger need for faster processor, which is MBP, will be where chips go.
and maybe in this event Apple might present with Adobe for Adobe's upcoming universal softwares.
i don't think Apple will just announce Aperture if they are going to invite guests for a presentation. more than that is coming. maybe Apple projectors. i don't know.
but I know for sure that G5 powerbook is not coming so losers better not cry for that.

Microsoft is still doing very well. They're making the best products they ever have done and as a customer I am very pleased with all of my Microsoft purchases.
- Zune desktop software
- Zune hardware and mobile software
- Windows Phone 7
- Windows 7
- Office 2010
- Office 2011 for Mac
- Xbox 360
- Xbox Live
All great products and deserve to be class leaders if they are not already. I can't think of another company (including Apple) that has put out such a fantastic range of very good products.
Where did you buy Zune hardware in the UK? And since we didn't even get the Zune subscription service until September 2010 it can't have been much use to you!

That would leave an awful lot of parents dead.
Not you, the poster you were quoting was being sarcastic. I was drawing your attention to his sarcasism.
Oh, sorry :) I had thought he was being rude towards me.

If you want a job with more vacation days, FIND ONE! no one owes you a darn thing, certainly not pay for days off. From your own assertion it would seem that some firms think they owe their workers a vacation.
1. If you are on Salary, you contractually agreed to get the job done regardless of the typical "work week". If you don't want to work long hours, don't accept a salaried position. Just because you contractually agree to do something does not change the fact that the conditions of your employment should meet some agreed minimum standard. Otherwise, in times of high unemployment, it would just be a hell-for-leather race to the bottom.

Oh boy... the Catholic Church is WAY too easy of a target. We should probably leave that one alone.
I hope you people realise that not all people in the catholic church think about condoms and such the way the Vatican does.
I am a seminarian (priest in training so to speak) and do not think condoms should be forbidden.
Don't forget that the Catholic church is very open, as in the Evolution theory, Big Bang, not taking the bible as a science or history book.
Furhtermore, the pope has an iPod nano, and he saaid computer technology is the future.

One part supplier gone, another one pops up.
Samsung can't afford to lose customers the likes of Apple.
Regardless, this suit has nothing to do with Samsung's supply agreements with Apple. Bridges won't be burned, Samsung won't breach their contracts, and the sky won't fall.
It's just business. And yes, a lot of entities are guilty of ripping off Apple's work. It's almost a favorite pastime in the industry. Apple has the wherewithal to go after whomever the wish without fear of losing customers, partners, or suppliers. Yeah, they are *that* secure, folks. Welcome to 2011 and the beginning of a massive growth phase for Apple driven by insane customer demand.

Yeah, I am in the same boat.
For me Cingular is the worst because I can't get it to work at my home and work. I have Verizon, is OK. but at least work. The truth is every carrier has a problem. I am still waiting to find somebody that says their carrier is 100% great and they are satisfied.
I hope iphone will work on other carriers. If not I'll wait until it comes with Verizon or any other carrier other than Cingular.
What good is to have an amazing phone if you can talk or get coverage?
Hey I'm satisfied with my carrier. I think the last time I had any problems with coverage was back in the 20th century. I've got coverage even in the freaking underground. I'd have coverage in the middle of wilderness if I chose to go there. It's cheap as well, I never pay incoming calls, my phone has never been locked and it works pretty much all over the world, my operator has had packet data connection most of this century as well and 3g for several years. What more could I wish?

Lets sue the name "apple"
"the compound noun 'apple' means simply ' a healthy object created by nature wich will give you pleasure and a longer life,' which is merely a definition of the thing itself--a generic characterization."

Is 20% speed improvement a lot for a core 2 designation?
The designation "Core 2" comes from the fact that it's a whole new architecture in the chip. The original "Core" processors aren't based on the Core architecture, they were based on the Pentium M. The Core 2 processors (Merom, Conroe and Woodcrest) are based on a 65nm dual-core 64 bit architecture - the desktop and workstation chips are based around the mobile Merom architecture.
Core 2 promised about 20% more performance at the same power requirement as the Core chip at the same clockspeed.

I believe Apple has been waiting for all the planets to align. If there is going to be a movie service there will be a true "video iPod".
